ATLASby Gradeum

ATLAS, by GradeumFor engineering and design firms.

A defensible, auditable AI for engineering work.

It does the filing, checking, drafting and searching. The engineer decides; ATLAS does the work and keeps the record.

Engineering work is marked DRAFT - PE Review Required.

Every engineer decision is logged.

    STA 1+00The bind

    Then the work buried you.

    • Rev B that should’ve been Rev C.
    • The transmittal that doesn’t match the register.
    • The spec section in the wrong template.
    • The drawing you know exists, somewhere, from last month.

Forty hours a week, and half of them spent on work that matters — but doesn’t need your license.

You didn’t stop being an engineer. You just stopped getting to be one.

Then came AI: a tool that could carry half of it.

And you were told you can’t use it.

    • No, because the client’s files can’t leave the building.
    • No, because nobody can say afterwards what it read or where it went.
    • No, because if it’s wrong, it’s your seal, not its.

So either you don’t use it — and stay buried. Or you use it quietly, with no record, and carry that too.

Neither one protects you. Neither one protects the public your license exists to protect.

Regulation of AI in engineering is coming.

    STA 2+00Not another AI.

ATLAS is what goes around the AI — so an engineer can finally use it and stand behind the record.

    Any model, one record.

    1. 01

      It never decides.

It finds, drafts, checks and cites — and everything carrying engineering judgment comes back marked DRAFT - PE Review Required.

The decision stays where the law put it. With you.

    2. 02

It cites, or says what is missing.

Every result points to its source, the file and the place, or says what’s missing.

    3. 03

      Nothing changes without your answer.

Nothing changes without your answer on the record.

      Every engineer decision is logged.

    4. 04

      New files only.

      ATLAS returns new files only.

It does not overwrite your originals.

The controls are code, not instructions.

Who is responsible, in the words of the Terms of Service

Gradeum does not practise engineering for you and does not sign, seal or certify any output.

    Terms of Service, section 6

A qualified professional must review, verify and approve every output before it is relied on, issued, built from, filed or stamped.

    STA 3+00Where your files live

You choose your level of security.

No law yet sets a level of security for AI in engineering work. The duty to keep a client’s information confidential is already in the profession’s rules.

Licensees shall not reveal facts, data, or information obtained in a professional capacity without the prior consent of the client, employer, or public body on which the licensee serves except as authorized or required by law or rules.

    1. 1 · CriteriaThe firm enters what the sheet is checked against.

An invented plan and profile sheet: a street with a storm drain, two inlets, a junction structure and a manhole in plan, and the pipe under the ground line in profile, with notes and a title block. The checker’s numbered marks show where each finding is.

    STA 6+00The record

A client asks: “Do you use AI?”

You say yes. “Yes. We use ATLAS.”

    Then you show them how.

    That is what defensible means.

Not that nothing can go wrong.

That you can prove what happened, and that the rules held.

How the record is kept, in the words of the Terms of Service

We keep a log of engineer decisions made in Atlas. It is kept while your account is active and deleted with your other Customer Content under section 8; the administrator may ask us for an export of it at any time before then.
